18 Months Old

Tristan recently had his 18 month check up and is growing into a strong little man. He is now in the 55th percentile (highest yet) for his height and weight. He weighs 27 lbs and loves to eat. He is learning new words all the time, his latest is knocking at the door and saying "kno kno". A few words he says are bubble, mall, ball, nose, eye, thank you, Justin, Ma Ma, cheese, knock knock and more, but refuses to say Da Da. When you tell him to say Da Da, he says Ma Ma. It seems to be a game to him now. I think the fact that we laugh every time has something to do with it. One of these days he will make his Daddy happy and say his name again. Tristan also loves talking on the phone, pretending to cook, turning light switches on and off (loves buttons), riding in his car (loves speed like his daddy) and loves being outside. It is a joy to be home with him every day even through his little fits. He seems to be entering the terrible two stage a little early. Hope it ends as early as it has begun. :)

Halloween

We had a busy Halloween with taking Tristan Trick or Treating and going to a Halloween/Birthday party for a friend of ours. Grandma came with us and then watched Tristan while we went to our party. Tristan had no idea why we were going house to house and walked in a few homes when they opened their doors. It was quite funny, I am sure next year he will understand more. It was crazy to watch all the kids run the neighborhood, I have never seen anything like it, but we do live in a breeding ground here in Ladera Ranch. We had a lot of fun and Tristan even left his costume head piece on which was surprising since he hates anything on his head. Poor Justin was sick in bed so wasn't able to have the fun he was expecting with his friends. Normally he would carve the pumpkin for us, but didn't this year since he didn't feel well. Instead we went the easy route and made our pumpkin into a Mr. Potato head Frankin Stein.

Cheese...

We took a short weekend trip to Palm Springs last month. While we were out to dinner I decided to break out the camera. I guess by instinct I always tell Tristan to, "Say cheese". I never realized I even did this until his little voice says back to me "Cheeee". It was so cute and now every time he sees the camera even when I'm not taking his picture, he automatically says "Cheeee".

Justin's First High School Dance- Homecoming 2009

Justin is now in High School and to my surprise asked a girl to the Homecoming dance. He didn't seem to be very interested in girls until now, I officially feel old! It doesn't seem too long ago that I was going to my High School dances so to see my baby boy growing up is a little bitter sweet. After dropping him off and seeing how beautiful and grown up he and his date looked, I drove away with a nervous, anxious energy like nothing I have ever felt. He is no longer a little boy...

San Juan Zoomars & Pumpkin Patch

This year we took Tristan to the San Juan Capistrano Zoomars and Pumpkin Patch. We heard great things about it so decided to give it a try. It is the cuttest little place, not only for fall but all year round. It cost only a few dollars to get in and well worth it. There are so many animals to pet and feed, a train ride, play ground, horse rides, etc. Tristan loved it, especially the train. I am so glad we found this little place so close to our home!
