Tristan turns 2

Happy Birthday to my baby boy. We love you so much, you have forever changed our lives. We will never forget your 2ND birthday. Exactly a week before, we were in the hospital emergency room and probably experienced the most horrible few days of your little life. We never imagined you would have broken your leg before your second birthday. Although you will not remember, we will one day have a story to tell you.

We didn't have anything big planned for Tristan's birthday this year which is probably a good thing since he was pretty much out of commission. We made the best of it, had some pizza and cupcakes with the family at our house over the weekend. On his actual birthday we wanted to get him out of the house so decided to walk around the Irvine Spectrum, ride the carousel and finish with a birthday dinner. Daddy couldn't wait to give Tristan his birthday gift, a Formula 1 race car. I'm not sure who loved it more.:) It was a great day after all.

One of his favorite gifts... BBQ

Of course Daddy picked out Tristan's birthday gift

Lots of Birthday Smiles

Having fun on the carousel

Broken Leg

Two weeks ago, Tristan fell from the swing while playing at the park. We knew something was wrong immediately. After hours in the emergency room, we were told that he fractured his tibia. They splinted his leg and gave him some Tylenol with codeine. The next few days were by far the worst days of his entire little life. Three days later he got a new blue cast that he will have to wear for 4-6 weeks (1 am praying for 4). Thank goodness the pain went away within a week and he is now scooting his body around and crawling the best he can. Unfortunately he can't walk so it makes things a little tough on Mommy and Daddy. He is still a happy boy with everything he has gone through but gets frustrated at times which is understandable considering the energy of a two year old. It makes you realize how thankful we should be for healthy kids.

Easter

For some odd reason, Tristan thought he need to show the Easter bunny his tummy.

Catching up....

I realize I have been way behind on my posts so I finally am taking the time to share some photos over the last few months beginning with March.

Big Bear snow day... We took a day to drive up to the snow a morning after a late in the seaon snow fall. Last year we took the boys to go tubing but Tristan was only 8 months old. This year we went on a week day and it was last minute so Justin was in school. I guess we picked a perfect day because there was no one else there. It was so quiet we thought it was closed. But to our surprise we had the park to ourselves. I was joking that it felt like Wally World. We had a blast. By the end of the stay, Tristan was riding down the mountain on his own. Can't wait to go again next year.

Chris' new ink. His one and only tattoo of his baby boy's name.

This boy loves his bathtime. :)
