39 Weeks

Any day now our little bundle of joy will be joining our family. We thought for sure we were heading to the hospital this past Thursday. I was having consistent contractions that were five minutes apart for a few hours in the evening after having cramping all day long while I was at work. I was able to finally get to sleep and the contractions subsided. I definitely feel like something is happening, so for now we will just wait and I will continue to work this last week. My Mom is coming into town on Friday. I am super excited she will be here and it will be nice to have some extra help. I took a few pictures which could very well be our last belly shots. I am a little sad that I won't get to feel him move inside of me very soon but at the same time can't wait to hold him in my arms.

Dr. visit update

Today was our weekly Dr. appointment. I am happy to say that things are moving along well. I am now 80% effaced and dilated to about 1. The doctor said that he could come at any time now and she doesn't think I will go beyond my due date of May 3rd. The other good news is that if for some reason he isn't here by his due date, my doctor is not opposed to inducing labor. Chris is hoping for a Cinco de Mayo baby. Although I feel huge at this point, I haven't gained any weight in the last three weeks which was very surprising to me because I feel like all I do is eat.
We have an ultrasound scheduled for next Wednesday before our weekly appointment to see if they can determine his weight. I will keep you posted on any changes. We are so excited to meet him any day now.

36 weeks

27 days left!!! I don't know if you can tell by the pictures but I have grown so much in the last week or two. My heartburn has kicked in and I have had off and on swelling in my feet. The baby gains an ounce a day from here on out. At this rate, I can't imagine waiting 4 more weeks. The little guy is still very active although he doesn't seem to have much room left. We have a doctor appointment tomorrow. We will now have our weekly appointments to see if there is any change. We also start our childbirth classes tomorrow night. It will be a good refresher for me and interesting for Chris.
The babies bag is packed, I am still working on mine though and the car seat is in the car ready to go. So we are pretty much ready for him to arrive.

Austin Baby Shower

Last weekend, my good friend Camille gave me a baby shower here in Austin. We had a lot of fun. We weren't sure how the weather was going to hold up since we had some rain off and on but it ended up being perfect out. I had a great time visiting with everyone.

Baby Shower

Last month we traveled to California for my baby shower that was given to me by the Grandmas. I had such a great time visiting with everyone and can't wait to move back. Thank you everyone for making my shower so special and for all the wonderful gifts. Thank you Rachelle for taking so many great pictures. I wish I could post them all.
Next time we travel back to California will be for the big move. Since our home is still on the market, we will be welcoming the birth of our new baby boy as a Texan. We didn't expect to be still living in Austin, but we love our Doctor and with Chris working from home, it doesn't seem so bad after all.
Since the shower, I feel like I have grown so much. My nights are becoming more and more sleepless with constant tossing to get as comfortable as possible and frequent trips to use the restroom. Other than feeling a bit more tired, I am doing pretty well. I definitely can tell the end is getting closer. I am beginning to think a lot about where and when I will go in to labor. Since I am planning on working until my due date, I wonder if I will be at work, the grocery store or if it will happen during the night. Who knows, all I can do is wait and see.

30 Weeks

Here are a couple of photos taken over this past weekend. I am beginning to look like I am carrying a basketball under my shirt. It's funny because I can't count the number of people I meet that ask if I am having a boy. Things are moving along well if I can now get rid of my annoying cough, I would be great. I caught a cold virus a few weeks ago and although I feel a ton better, my cough doesn't seem to be going away any time soon. It actually seems deeper then when it originally began and it is now going on week 3! To top it off, Chris has been dealing with a back injury for the past few weeks so all we seem to do is complain lately. :)
Next week we are flying back to California. I am so excited to see my friends and family. This will be my last plane trip before the baby arrives. It is weird to think he will be here so soon...
The next time back will hopefully be for good! Yes, we are still moving to CA, but no offers on the house yet. Believe me, everyone will know when we finally sell our home:)

29 Weeks

This past weekend we had the awesome opportunity to get a glimpse of our precious baby boy for the first time in 3D. It is so amazing how far technology has come and how clearly you can see your baby during the ultrasound. Justin was there to see his baby brother and the grandparents were able to watch live from their computer at home. We were very happy to be able to share this experience with them from so far away.
At first the umbilical cord was across his face and then he was hiding with his hands in front of his mouth but finally moved them at the end of our session. You will see his little foot to the left of his head in the first photo, he was rubbing his eye in the second one, yawning or maybe smiling in third, and his arm was bent up next to his head in the last photo.
Seeing him made us realize how fast this last trimester will go and how soon he will be here . We are now more excited then ever to meet him.
