Keeping cool...
We have had a blast enjoying the sun and pool over the long weekend. Tristan is doing great in the water, much better than in the Mommy and Me class. It's weird how they know the difference, he is afraid of the instructors even though they don't touch him. The class is supposed to be fun at his age but after this weekend I learned that maybe we should wait until he is a bit older. Same pool, same drills, and he acted like a different kid. He was so much more relaxed, laughed, played the entire time and cried when it was time to go home.

Happy Father's Day
Hope you all have as great of a day as we did. This father's day was very relaxing and nice just spending time together. I made breakfast for the family and then we headed off to the mall for some shopping. We had planned on spending the day at the beach but it wasn't as warm as we wished for. I have to say, it ended up being beautiful out. Lastly, we had an early dinner at Javier's which is always good. I give thanks to my husband for taking care of his family day in and day out. We love you so very much! Happy Father's Day.

Our little ham
Our little man makes us laugh every day, I feel so lucky to have such a happy baby boy. I love his little personality, sometimes I just sit and stare and try to soak it all in because I know how fast they change. And yes, he is trouble, but how can you get mad at that face! He can turn any frown into a smile. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONKEY!!
Round 2...Tristan's actual birthday was Monday so we had to get a couple pictures on his B-day. I decided to share a left over cupcake after dinner with him. It didn't go quite as I expected. I got a taste of frosting and that was about it. As soon as I put the cupcake in front of him, he grabbed the entire top with his hand and dug in. I guess he had plenty of practice the day before so what should I expect, right?!He had a blast with the deflating balloons as you can see, he was quite hilarious.

1st Birthday Party
We celebrated Tristan's first birthday party this past Sunday. Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. Tristan wasn't too sure what all these people were doing at his house but warmed up quickly. The theme was an ice cream party. We made cupcakes that looked like ice cream cones and an ice cream bar with yummy toppings. Tristan received lots of great gifts but his favorite was the red car his Grandma and Grandpa Walden brought him. He loved it and could have sat in it all day if we had let him. We all had a good laugh when it came time for his cake. He demolished the cake and ate more than he probably should have. He started getting tired without having his afternoon nap but ended up making it to the end of the day without any fussing or crying. I was very proud of our little guy. I don't think the day could have been any better.
